These coins were used in the post Gupta period from 6 12 centuries. The obverse features the bust head of the king, but highly simplified compared to the more intricate Sasanian coins. The reverse initially had a fire altar, as seen in Sasanian coins and Gupta period. However, the OM type coins have 'Omkar' in Devnagari script
